Newbie Fuse Question

Post by dalester »

Only just bought my T25 after years of driving a 66 split bus, so all very new to me....scored a 1990 California Westfalia. :D

....my muppet question relates to fuses....I have lost dash illumination, front (not rear) windscreen washer motor, & rear fog light - all at once.

Is a) this likely to be a fuse, b) which fuse would it be? (I assume the fusebox is in the glovebox)

Thx!

Very unlucky I would say in all the years I've had this van and been on this forum never heard of a duff fuse box (unless been on fire)

Check the fuse and then the bulbs, not unknown for um to blow!

Hello,

both the rear fog light and instrument lighting are 10A fuses which sit above the line of fuses on the later models - easy to miss or assume they're spares. Front washer motor I'm not sure, but I think it's on the same fuse as the switch for the washers and windscreen wipers themselves.... If the windscreen wipers are working I'd check the connections to the motor itself.

Hope that helps a bit. I've never known a fuse box to fall apart, but I've only had late style ones and they seem pretty robust to me.

Good luck sorting it.

Ewen

And be aware of corroded earth terminals on the two 'earth crowns' above the fuse box.
