Yeah 100% on the right way, Fitted them the same way they came off plus checked the order in the haynes manual.

Would it be the same amplifier fitted to a 1994 polo??

Have seen one in my local breakers yard so was wondering if should chance it and see if it is fitted to it.

If it's a carb Polio then the chances are it would work.

Thanks, Think I might chance paying the £1.20 entry fee to see if it is on there!

The ongoing saga continues.....

After checking through the looms and connections again I tried to start it again with no joy. Went back to check again and found a broken wire leading to the water temp sensor so I reconnected it and thought I'd start it again in hope more than anything, I couldn't believe it when the old girl fired up first time without hardly any turning over and then ran fine for a good 5-10mins(this is with the old ignition amp).

I left it for 10mins before trying to start again, She started 1st time again and ran for 5mins. To make sure I wasn't losing my mind I did this another 2 times with no problems so then I decided it was time to give her a run on the road. After starting again for the 5th time I moved around 5 feet before she cut out instantly without warning and I mean instantly! Now it won't start again just like before, Surely this must be the ignition amp?!?

Also I now know I have a DF engine not a DG.

Again any help would be brilliant.

Does anyone know the genuine vw part number for the ignition amp that should be fitted to my T25? I've got one now with the part number of 191 905 351 B.

1984 1.9l DF T25.

Have you un-plugged the amplifier and cleaned up the bladed contacts? It might be that there's a dirty connection causing the problem? If you've got a multimeter check the continuity on the loom to see if there's a broken wire as well. This is a diagram I drew when I was testing my Hall Sensor so ignore the 12v supply & the LED, but it might help tracking down a faulty connection / wire.

Many thanks, Have checked the amplifier and all seems to be clean. I removed the amp the other day to check it out and gave it a few knocks on the wall, Re-fitted it and that is when it started fine for 4/5 times then died on me and wouldn't start again. :x

I'm glad to report that everything is up and running at last!!! Was brilliant to hear it fire into life after so long, Hopefully I can finally get to some shows now. :D

Have got another question if anyone can help?? I have been looking at some posts on the this forum and seen the ones about fuel hoses and filters so thought i would check mine out. My fuel filter is in the engine bay, But I have seen that it should be just after the fuel tank outlet? I have had a look but there is no filter in the line running from the offside tank outlet apart from the one in the engine bay just before the pump, So should it be moved to inside the sill just after the tank?

Was shocked to also see that after about 30cm of hose from the tank outlet the hose had been chopped and changed to a very small plasic airline untill about 30cm from the hole where it enters the engine bay, Then it changes back to normal fuel hose. :x

Where is the best place to get the correct fuel hose and clips?? Have seen that GSF are not good for fuel hose but did I see there is somewhere good on ebay to get it?

that plastic pipe is standard, and much safer than rubber hose.
yes the filter should be by the tank, not in the engine bay.

pleased you got it going, was it deffo the ig amp?

I would of thought that rubber hose would of ran all the way, My mistake! :D

Should the filter be between the tank outlet and small plastic hose??

No it wasn't the ignition amplifier, I think I must of had a bad connection somewhere as I went through all of the connectors and cleaned them up and sprayed them in wd40 and since then she has been fine!

:ok
