well I'm sure it would help us all if you let the secret out as to which 1.6 engine you have.. :D

is it a NA or TD
remtec, VW heretage, VEGE

for recons

Elite for replacements

breakers for cheaper replacements SEAT, Passat, golf, audi.

see alternative engines for upgrading your diesel to an AAZ 1.9

I don't think a CS is turbo but I might be wrong, why exactly do you need a complete new engine?

Find a different garage. CS is 1.6 Non turD, JX is 1.6 TurD, the 1.9TD info is in Alternative Engines and Ringo's speciality

Evening all,
Thanks for your replies.
Basically the engine decided to lock up whilst moving and basically went bang. I think the technical term is 'shagged'
My mistake on the engine too, my Nelly is just a plain old 1.6 diesel. Typo error on my front.

Am on the case with the search for a recon and hope to have her up and running by next weekend. Hoora..... Dont have any money left to put fuel in it, but at least I have a an engine in my Nelly!!

Thanks again for all your help,

Gareth :ok
