We were there the week before last. It's a typical C&CC site - very well run, clean and quiet but a bit regimented. Although there are sea views, it is quite a way from the beach - I wouldn't like to walk it! That said, only a short drive into Woolacombe and plenty of parking there. Just make sure you take plenty of parking money - cheap it ain"t!

North Morte Farm camping site is a bit nearer the beach. I've stayed at Damage Barton before and we tried to walk to the beach and gave up. But I reckon from Mortehoe you could probably walk, though would still probably be a bit of a trek. Campsites in Croyde would be nearer the beach but then I think the long road down to Croyde makes it a bit of a trek up from Croyde to anywhere else.

Site here says its 500yds to beach.

Not many camp sites in Woolacombe are that near the sea. My Bro has stayed at North Morte Farm - not many level spots and it is a fair stroll the the waters edge (and a bugger of a hill back), said he would go again though. If you want walking distance to the beach then the Croyde ones are the best bet but can be pricey. Lobb Fields is not too far from Saunton Sands and a short walk into Braunton for food / ale.

I stayed at Warcombe Farm (Morte Hoe area) over easter - nice site with good facilities and plenty of space. To be fair it is only a cuple of minutes drive to the beach but get there before 9.30 - 1000 or face ending up in the overflow parking field. Parking in the main car park was £5 per day at easter.
