Hi all,
I just changed my header tank as the old one had cracked, problem I now have is the level switch now weeps very slightly around it's rubber seal ring when the system pressurises up. The seal looks to be in good condition so I'm wondering if your supposed to use a sealant when you put the switch in? When I removed it from the old header tank it didn't look to have had sealant on it although I did clean some gunge off of it that may or may not have been sealant.

I fitted our last using silicone sealant, bloody thing always seeped until I did that. The one I fitted this july never leaked at all ... same O-ring, same sender

Was the new one, err, "New" - if so were did it come from ?
The one I got a while ago from JK was pants and after a short while it failed (split).
18 months ago (ish) I fitted a good used VW item = no problems since.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

Probably best to replace the seal on the temp sender as the old seal will have be compressed over the years and distubing it will have finished it off. As a temperary measure try fliping the seal overand refit it, that sometimes works .

Yes it was new and from Gunzel here in Germany so it should be good quality so I'm told.

Good idea! I'll try that before I order a new one.
