Hi,
When you say there's no clutch, is clutch slipping, or do you mean there's no pedal and won't "disengage"? It sounds like you mean the pedal feels normal, but the clutch isn't clearing and you can't select gears?

You need a helper to press the pedal while you look at the free play at the pedal and the travel at the release arm. Also look for any lateral movement in the release shaft (bushes worn). That should give you some clues to what's going on. Either you've got insufficient travel or the clutch is still dragging the driven (friction) plate for some other reason.

If you've got full travel, are there any strange noises when pedal is depressed? When you had clutch out did you have a good look at the pressure plate? Any bent fingers/broken springs/uneven wear?

Could also be spigot bearing seized and dragging on gearbox input shaft.

Have another look and post the results then we'll try and help you sort it.

Does the clutch work (i.e. can you select gears easily) with the engine turned off ? If so I fear it could be the spigot bearing

The friction plate looks worn out, swap the lot (and lightly grease the spigot shaft bearing  )

I think if friction plate was worn out, clutch would work, but just slip. You should still be able to select gears.

What happens if you select 1st gear and then start it with your foot on the clutch? Will it start, or is drive fully taken up and it just clonks and lurches forward? That test will give us more clues...

clutch plate not brilliant but useable, as said it wont cause loss of clearance, can you confirm that if you put it into gear and then start it ,it will creep, if so then its a clearance issue.
if you have the engine running and then put your foot on the clutch what does it sound like

in tyhat case, you either havent got the cable adjusted right, as its definately not clearing, so either adjusment or the release b'ing is worn shot, be easy to sus in person though,

hmm took the trouble to read the above posts properly :) It did work then ceased without you doing or adjusting anything cept the motors been stood, that said it would seem unlikely the cable is shot nor the release b'ing (worth checking latter)lube the spigot b'ing but it would have to be some drag to give drive with a working clutch fully depressed?

Friction plate has life in it yet for sure - seen much much worse. Does look oil contaminated though. Check there are no leaks on either gearbox and flywheel side. With an oily friction plate, I always used to stand it out the way somewhere, give it a dose of petrol and set fire to it - tends to burn the worst of the oil off. Check operation of clutch arm too. Make sure its not worn out and is moving properly.
