Viking roof external insulator

Post by Rafa77 »

Hi, is there anyone out there who has or know`s where to purchase an insulator for the outside of our viking canvas roof.

Im guna try proud to pop, but wondered if there are any others out there?

Our last jaunt to whitby unearthed leaks on every seam on original 29 year old canvas roof, considering replacing it, but want a quick fix and the insulation for BUGJAM at end of month, got to keep my 8month old toasty warm-n-dry.

:ok

I've asked a company who made the foil covers, can't remember their names, but he informed me they were too difficult to make for a viking roof.

For isulation and to block sun light out I bought some foil wrap from B&Q and cut it out and fixed to the inside using the velcro tape you can buy.

We did the same as Daz; bought a few rolls of thermowrap from B & Q and made one ourselves.

I too looked for the external thermals but it seems that companies make for devons & westies etc. but not Vikings. The only other option if you want it externally is to buy the thermal material on the roll some stud fastners & get sewing. Try Leon at Concept pop tops. He might make you one but I would imagine it would be expensive. Let me know if you do have any luck. I might be interested

Gaffa tape for the leaks and then insulation inside as already suggested?
What a long strange trip it's been

I too would definitely recommend Leon at Concept Pop Tops. He's very good a what he does and what he makes you will last.
