We bought our camper about amonth ago and went for our first trip this weekend.
We had bought an awning on the bay of fleas from a couple in Falmouth so used this as an excuse for a weekend in Cornwall.
4.5 hour drive from Lymington after coming from Isle of Wight, and sightseeing, and back, and loved it!
Never knew I had so many friends! More waves than Newquay beach!
Having joined the 90-90 club a couple of weeks ago, we took the advice on the forum to use Blue Hills camp site.
Good choice. Gary is, as said elsewhere, "a good bloke". Will definitely go there again.
No pics unfortuneately as left camera behind (a "bad thing")
Also left gas lighter thingy behind too (a worse "bad thing"). But another VW owner came to our rescue as we had arrived late, unti lwe could sort ourselves out in the morning.
All in all a good weekend and we are really glad to be camping in our camper having transferred from Caravans.

Re: New camper - first trip
AAAhhhhhhh the first trip. I remember it well.
New Forest. Had a sore a*** from bike riding all day.
Then on the way home the gearbox went and the final reminder from the trip was a hefty bill a week later!!

Re: New camper - first trip
Our trip went well but I did have a bit of a panic. The last 30 or so miles we had a misfire and lack of power so I nursed it home fearing the worst.
turns out, when i lifted the engine lid, I found a small rubber connecting pipe between two metal pipes at the right side of the engine at the back had come off. Popped it back on and all was well. Phew. It was only pushed on so will get some clips to hold it in place.

....Had a great time with some friends with tents that met up with us .Site was good and the camper seems to be running ok. Can't wait for our next venture out over night now we've got the camper sort of sorted with all the camping gear ...( always going to forget something )..Forgot camping light this trip ..lol

Nice one, glad you had a good time too.
I guess we all leave something behind at sometime or another
As you say can't wait, now, for the next one.

Re: New camper - first trip
Our first camping trip we set off and drove 160 miles to meet a gang of total strangers (well except Matt,Jen,Tom,Jake and Holly) 'off the internet' in the middle of a huge field on the outskirts of nowhere ... called Apps Court
Imagine what family and neighbours thought

Re: New camper - first trip
Yeah, at Blue Hills Gary asked if we had heard of club 80-90 and I explained that was why we were there and nowhere else.
He reckons you're a good bunch so look forward to doing the same thing and meeting up with you all sometime.
