been carpeting the interior

Post by uniB »

Thought I'd post a few pics from the recent work I've been doing on my interior refit (should anyone be interested!). I confirm that refitting the windows is about as much fun as rubbing your eyes with a wire brush!

Coming on now... bit of a slow process spraying the inside of the new ply cupboards with matt varnish as it takes 8 hours to dry between coats. Nearly there though, next I'm on to making the drawers and cupboard door.

More stuff about what I've been up to on my blog http://t25camper.wordpress.com/2010/05/ ... th-carpet/

I'll get some more photos for you when I've got a bit more of it done, waiting from my stuff to arrive from Reimo via Torbay Conversions before I can get on with lining much more – been waiting 5 weeks now when they said it'd take 2, absolute shambles of a company  .

The carpet is smooth silver from megavanmats – it's good stuff :ok

Thanks Lloyd!

I started using 3M High Strength spray adhesive but now I've gone on to the stuff from Megavanmats which seems just as good, I'll save the 3M stuff for laminating the formica on the doors

Looked at their site. Decent prices.

I need to insulate and do out our topper and refurb most of the panels. Thinking of their sand color.

Look forward to seeing it all finished.

Thanks Lloydy, the celotex is close cell. I've heard so many arguments for and against different types of insulation, I'm also using Reimo X-Trem on the floor and high top – at least I would be if it ever got delivered to me, 5 weeks and counting – and Second Skin Heat Wave Pro in areas where road noise is an issue or where I can't get celotex in. Waiting for that to come in stock too so all at a bit of a stand still at the moment :(

UniB, looking fantastic mate! If your having trouble with sourcing your Reimo bits try Concept Multi Car in Kent: http://www.conceptmulti-car.co.uk/ They sorted my van out a beaut when I had the kitchen unit stolen and make regular trips to the Reimo factory in Germany which they told me is like Alladins cave!

Thanks mate, I certainly am having trouble with my Reimo order through Torbay Conversions, I've had excuse after excuse, I'm now told they are going over to Germany on the 4th of June so I'll get my stuff the week after which will be nearly 8 weeks after I ordered it  I suspect this won't even happen. At that point I'll try and get a refund and see if I can get it from concept multi car – thanks for the suggestion!

I don't think they make dedicated T25 interiors any more Lloydy, they just sell all the bits you'd need - or at least they claim to sell the bits – I'm yet to see the evidence!

Concept Multi car still have all the original layout templates and can make it up for you. Due to the materials (stainless steel/veneer etc) it has a more modern feel which has taken a bit of blending in for our van. It was £1900 just for the kitchen unit and appliances (insurance paid) so heaven knows how much the full interior is. I will say that I am very impressed with their carpentry and installation though, and they are all VW nuts down there! I still call them for bits and pieces and they always oblige. Family run etc, some of the good guys!
