Opinions wanted please! Devon or Viking decal sticker
I bought an "Autohomes" conversion in Sept. It was bare inside. Since then I replaced the roof with a "Super Viking" & I've got a full set of "Devon furniture that I'm currently re-vamping & re fitting & tweaking slightly to fit new roof arrangement. There were also no tailgate badges but I have since bought Volkswagen & Caravelle ones.
The van has also just gone for a two tone respray as the "Devon Moonraker" conversion.
I was thinking of having the strip sticker on the cab door & rear hatch as the "Devon" A company called Dubberware make good replicas but they can custom make the stripes with any text. As the van is a bit of a mix & match what should I go for? "DEVON" or "VIKING" or even "SUPER VIKING"
http://www.dubberware.com/Details.asp?ProductID=17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Any opinions appreciated please!!!!
Cheers

I wouldn't do either, do something unique - just like your van
I'm not a big fan of pretending something's something it's not - it's a bit like putting a GTI badge your 1.6l Golf just cos it's got the right bumpers...

Thanks! A valid point!

Hello mate, hows it all going? I like the name vikon but most of the viking vans had explorer down the side. Were thinking of getting it put back on ours.

Steve
All good making progress on the van slowly but surely. I did come across a photo of a Viking conversion with "Explorer" on the side. Where are you thinking of getting the sticker decal made?
Cheers

Sounds like you've been busy!
I also agree that it shouldnt claim to be something it isnt. Vikon is a good option. Could also use your forum name! or even leave it blank to keep it a pure two tone

Thinking now along the lines of a T3 nickname rather than a Viking/Devon cross.
A few nicnames I came across including the usuals:
T25
WEDGE
BRICK
CAMPER
VDUB
FASTBACK
SQUAREBACK
NOTCHBACK
Favourites so far either "WEDGE" or simply "CAMPER"
Any other nicknames anybody come across? One single website claimed a spin off of a couple of names from about "WEDGIE" or "BRICKIE" never of them myself!! "WEDGIE" just brought tears to my eyes thinking of distance school days

Hope your well! Nice idea with the reflective trim. Where are you thinking of getting it done?

Just spoken to Bev (the missus), she hasn't finished doing the artwork for it for the printer, she's going to get on and finish it and then find out prices

That's so close to the original it's not true! The lettering font looks spot on. They had a darker "graphite" border top and bottom iirc...Steve P wrote:This was the wifes attempt using photoshop, thinking of getting it printed in the reflective silver material you get on

That would look really cool in Scotchbrite* and you could find it when your torch batteries go flat on camp
