No dipped headlights

Post by Al Housman »

The dipped headlights are not working on my Doka.Side and main are good and bulbs are working.Fuses 21 and 22 are also good.Does anybody have any tips? Is there a relay for these? Earth is clearly good since othre lights are fine but I did notice that if a bulb is put between main beam and dip at the plug end and main is turned on it lights up.Is this usual? Thanks. Al

Thanks for that.Have I got that right-you had to replace the ignition switch not the light switch.

Did you check for power at the fuse?

Think I'm getting somewhere with this.I have power in the plug which fits into the indicator/dip switch on the column to the feeds(red/yellow and black/white). Bypassing the switch with a short piece of wire gets both dip and main beam working.

I am assuming that it is the dip switch which is faulty-please correct me if I seem to barking up the wrong tree!

Do I replace the whole of that unit (arm, dip and indicator switch ) or is the dip part replaceable on its own? Do I take the steering wheel off to get it off?

Thanks for the suggestions so far.Al

yes steering wheel off, three little screws hold the stalk and switch on complete unit swap out job but check the contact plates they may be fixable but i think there's bonded on carbon contacts they may have come off.
