Sorry if this has been asked 100 times, don’t know to much about tyres, I’ve done a search, but no conclusive answer.
I have the wheels, but no tyres which I'm just abouts to buy. I see some people are running 205/55/16's on the fronts and 215/55/16's on the rear. Is this because that’s what are stock on the Granada? Is there any logic to running wider tyres on the rear than the front?
As I have to buy 4 new tyres anyway I can go for any option. Would 205/45/16’s be to stretched? My van is very low so I would like to go pretty low on the profile. What do you think?

225/55 X 16" will give an identical circumferance to OE VW.
I doubt if you could find tyres with a load rating* that would suit the van at that profile.
However at 215/60 X 16 there are lots of tyres to choose from that are safe...but that's your life, you choose.
*..A rating of 97 or more is recommended.

Re: Granada Cosworth Alloys
the reason for fitting smaller front tyres is only because it looks cool gives the van a nose down look
i run 205/50/16 fronts 225/50/16 rears with grannie cossie wheels
you must ensure that you use the F O R D to t25 wheel nuts as sold on ebay as the pcd is right but holes in the wheels are bigger and a min of 10 mm spacers i have 10mm front and 20 mm rears sliding door just clears the rear tyre

rollerskate !!!!
well its a matter of personal taste but i happento like lower vans as they handle better and also the front lower than the back looks cool if you want your van to retain the brick look then that is your taste
i am glad that we are all not all the same cos that would be boring

Re: Granada Cosworth Alloys
Mines lowered -50mm so i too like lowered vans but the wheels still looked like skateboard wheels to me, and you can't get decent load ratings at that profile but as you say it pays to be different.

I'm running 96 reinforced 205/60/16's all round on mine, pop-top diesel camper and lowered 45mm on Weitec springs, personally i think they're just right for my needs and not so wide to make the steering too heavy. 10mm spacers on the back cause I wanted to get the centre caps on (also needs a little mod to the split pins ... but thats another story ) It is a little close when the door opens but anything wider and with the spacers on I reckon you'd need to do the mod to the middle runner/hinge. Speedo's out by about 8mph ... it was 10mph with standard wheels! Can do you some pics if you really want??

Yes please!
Re: Granada Cosworth Alloys
Front wheel ... excuse the primer/filler
Rear wheel ... slight jacked up ass due to the springs
Rear view
Door open ... about 3mm clearance
.... hope they're of some help!
