Re: Anyone on here been to Le Tranche sur mer in France??
We stopped at Camping Bel for a few nights last year on our French tour. It's a Key-Camp but with separate areas for vans/tents/etc. It was a nice friendly little site with a pool for the kids. It was less than 5 min walk from the (lovely) beach. The town itself was bustling when we were there, but it was a French bank holiday. There are a couple of 'camping-car' spots just outside the town. There were a couple of mustangs (of the plane variety) flying about every day doing various aerobatic manoeuvres (is that how you spell it?).

It's got a VW motor, a 116.8 cubic inch plant, Michelin tyres, VW suspension, VW shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new RedSquirrel bus or what?

Re: Anyone on here been to Le Tranche sur mer in France??

There's a supermarket in the opposite direction to the beach (again less than 5 mins walk) with a couple of other shops around it. A baker's van came round every morning with fresh bread and croissants.
We did swim in the sea, but it is the Atlantic, so it's nippy and choppy.
There are quite a few restaurants and bars in the town along with the usual 'sea-side' stores.
There was a carousel in the town square and we went on the tourist train aound the town, but as I said, it was bank holiday so I don't know if they are permanent features.
I seem to remember we needed a long-ish hook up lead.

Re: Anyone on here been to Le Tranche sur mer in France??
we spent a fortnight up and downthe coast north and south of here, surfing and chilling on beaches, loads of very commercial campsites full of dutch and germans, we ended up wild camping at beaches and aire's and had one of the best holidays of my life, the camp sites get very full as the germans and dutch book and plan early! it's a beautiful part of the world, and if you go off the beaten track you could well get the beach to yourself. and the seafood is outstanding, especially the oysters

pity those who don't drink, when they wake in the morning, thats the best they will feel all day!

Re: Anyone on here been to Le Tranche sur mer in France??
I've just come back from 2 weeks staying just outside Les Sables D'Olonne, on the island of Le Chaum.
Was a nice place and the wife and rugrats all really liked the area, good beach's and friendly people, but be aware that most of the campsites were closing on the 20th September....
Was in a static caravan rather than the camper though
