heater blower

Post by Rincewind »

hi

having sorted a switch for the blower from a Scirocco, proudly put it in yesterday, to turn it and nothing. nada now't
i do get hot air when driving, but no puff behind it.....

where do i start looking?

can't see any fuses blown

or is it a case of off with the dash and start looking at the wiring?

More like a case for looking in the wiki.
Good chance its the fan motor siezed which is a common fault.
Dash out job if it is.

As above. Seized blower. Or just maybe the switch is faulty. Have it tested.
Then if switch is good dash out time. Done it three times this year for various reasons. Not fun and very time consuming. Allow a whole day to complete if including new fan heater blower. As removing plastic housing can be the stuff of nightmares.

By the way I've still got the old heater blower in garage. Now with unseized bearing. You can have it for the price of postage. But to be honest I would consider buying new. Only cost £30.00 on ebay. And copiously oil bearing for a few days before fitting.

PM me if needing blower.
