Fitting New Devon roof Canvas

Post by wewbewcew »

Hi,

I'm new to the scene of VW campers and I'm looking for some advice as to where to get my roof canvas replaced. I've purchased a new canvas but I really need someone to fit it and replace the roof lining.
I'm located Nr Shrewsbury.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Dave

Hi! I did the canvas on my Westy last year and it wasn't difficult. Wish I'd redone the flock at the same time though. Are you going to any shows in the next couple of weeks as I'll gladly have a look at it with you and give any tips I can. I'll be at Summerfest and Tatton Park, had a quote for fitting in Worcs but that was far more than the canvas itself... You could try Wrigley's at Rednal, Just VWs in Wrexham or Newdubs in Cefn Mawr if you don't want to have a go.

Thanks for the advice!
Goerge is booked into Newdubs, I didn't know they existed.
Cheers

You're welcome. They should do a good job. Very good with bodywork and trim. Try to get to Tatton Park next week, there's usually lots of traders there, both new and secondhand. Can get some good contacts, as you WILL need things and probably get either the pimping or camping bug... or both... These old funboxes are addictive! :D Most owners love talking about vans, so if you have any issues say "hello" and ask. :ok
