dash removal and refitting

never done this before and i now need to.

it looks pretty straight forward, but are there any known pains in the a**e to expect?

and, when i remove the dash does it give decent access to the place where there used to be metal under the screen rubber? .

just ignore the heater bit.i did mine last year and its a doddle..it might take an hour or more to remove first time but once you done it ..its easy to put back on.you might need some molegrips on the steering column studs but mine had been replaced with normal bolts before i got the van.

i will certainly ignore the heater. no point worrying about things that it hasnt got.

i did mine about a fortnight ago, and i looks loads more involved than it actually was, probably be easier with two people but i did it on my own and found it to be pretty straight forward. the is a bracket that hold the heater control which needs to be unscrewed you will have to remove the heater control fascia and probably snap the legs of it to get access. as already stated the only other bit that slowed me down were the sheer bolts holding the colum to the dash, fortunatly mine had what looked to be factory holes in them so were a doddle with the eazi outs.

i have seen the screw hiding behind the heat (lol) control.
apart from that i dont think theres much to worry about. but i will keep you posted, i'll shout out the window as your very local and i will keep an eye out for you.

I used an 300mm extension bar on a ratchet with a #3 phillips socket head for this screw lots easier than long screwdriver because it's easier to put pressure , I found dash out an easy job also following the wiki
