Woohoo......Eurotunnel actually worked out best for us for dates/price so we are off on 0842 on 1 August, returning on 0820 on 16 August.
OH is now getting nervous about 'getting to know our van' before we set off!!! Few weekends needed in him before we go methinks.
Becks.

Re: Booked our trip to France this morning!!!
Bet you're excited!!
We are off to France this week, in fact we leave for Maidstone tomorrow then get the ferry on Wednesday. 1st night we are staying at Berck Sur Mer about 50 miles from Calais, stopping at an Aire. Free camping right by the beach. Then onward to whereever we fancy.
I'm not using the Chunnel cos Yvonne says she can swim a bit but cant dig for spit!!
Have a super holiday and post a link to your photos when you return.

Poole-Cherbourg on 11th July.
Two weeks in Loire region visiting chateaux and vineyards.
Can't wait. Getting a bit too excited already.
My checklist is now honed to perfection, I hope. I managed to leave coffee mugs behind last year!
For some reason I didn't forget the bottle opener or wine glasses.
It is important to remember the luminous yellow jackets that the French now insist on. The French police do not mess around and I heard reports of 100 Euro on-the-spot fines for motorists last summer.
I got mine in the Pound shop.

Why not bring 100 reflective jackets from the pound shop, and flog them at the ferry port french side? £3 each sounds fair!

I'm probably stating something you already know about but you aren't gas powered are you?
They don't allow gas powered vehicles on the trains:-

Your cooking gas will be OK though it seems.
Don't mean to alarm you but thought I'd mention it.
Have a great trip.
