Hello, I've just spent VanFest 2009 looking for an interior like mine. Kev the Rev thought it was a Bilbo and suggested I post some pics and that's when I came across your posting, Bilbo Blue, after last year's VanFest.

I've had her just 18 months and there's been many highs, many challenges and loads of adventures, and it's pure unconditional love. She's 1989, arrived blue and silver, with a high hard top. Unfortunately we had to replace the hard top with a side lifting roof so that we could get her in the garage, but it works well.

The surface rust and fridge vent and tailgate rust has been treated and we've done the art bus thing, which may seem sacrilege to my fellow Club80-90 members but it had to be done.

If you are interested, I've posted pics of the interior and before and after exterior on this link:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 ... 596b527d7d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The "camping" logo on the right of the tailgate is a mystery. I'll post a query on the forum but there's one on the link above. Do any of my fellow Bilbo interiors have a camping logo?!

Good to know a bit more about Karima's heritage.

Cheers!

Thats a Bilbos Marlborough Design. I have an earlier one with a 1.9 DG engine and the interior is much more retro which we are restoring for sale..
They are quite rare but ooh so roomy! :ok

Ha! :wink: The weblink in our posting shows she came to us quite normal really - but she is much happier now! (But that might just be cause we mended her rusty bits). No she's never touched drugs just sips the odd unleaded spritzer.

Ah exciting! She has a sister. A superior diesel one but a sister. Ours is 1.9 petrol. Marlborough? OK hadn't even heard of a Marlborough! How did you find that out and is there anything you've found on the internet with more info?

If you get the chance, and remember, please link me to any pics you post of your interior. Before and after!

Thanks for your reply Peet.

I know what they were called as there was a busted original Bilbos plate on the back with Marlborough conversion written on it! I shall get a piccy of the way retro interior tomorro, we have jus finished restoring it - it was an absolute shed when I bought it... :lol:

Image

Has yours the cupboard u open up and inside it are 4 ickle drawers? Its my favoutire feature. MInes not laminated wood either its waxed wood and has a buddy seat. The material is as retro as any Westfalia. She's nearly finished and will be offered up for sale but it's been an interesting project for us. Like it! :ok

Now I'm thinking yours may be a cousin not a sister :? We have no ickle drawers! And if you have waxed wood and a buddy seat I'm thinking that may be the Marlborough bit? Cause mine's just like Bilbo Blue's. Special but not quite as special as yours?! Did you see the pics on my link?

Where's the emotion thing for gutted ....
