1.6d - 1.9d Upgrade - Is it worth it?

Post by gauntlets »

I've just got my first T25 and I absolutely love it. The only thing is that it's got a 1.6d lump in and as i'm sure you're all aware is quite underpowered. I've seen loads of posts on people upgrading engines to 1.9 (1y and aaz) but i'm wondering how much difference it actually makes? Anyone care to help a noob?

Nahhhhhhhhhhh not really even though you are a noob,----------- :rofl I know you ave gota learn from somewhere But there is that much information on this forum all you have to do is search the WIKI and read up plus print off any info you think is relivent. 1.6d engines are good strong solid ploders, if there is no mechanical problems with it at present well leave alone. Whem No 3 Conrod pokes its face throo your crankcase wall. Then start looking for an alternate engine.---------------- :ok

My thoughts exactly.

Its only worth it if the 1,6d is bust. Otherwise, leave well alone.

Putting an AAZ in is another matter - thats definetely worth it. However, thats sooo much more hassle and expense.

the letters 'AAZ' are actually an abbreviation of a German phrase which translates roughly as 'nice but bloody expensive'
