The fuel pump for the 2.0 litre Aircooled is still available from VW Classic Parts Center....but the bad news is that it's about £200.

One very hard part to get (if it's possible at all) is the dual vacuum can for the distributor for the 2.0 litre engine. The 1600 engine's distributor on the other hand can simply be replaced with a genuine mexican Bosch SVDA distributor.

thermostat is also finished but you can adapt the bug one which was in a recent thread, and tinware can be fashioned without too much trouble.

Some sort of Database would be a good idea (seem to remember Baxter posting a list of many parts that were obsolete some time ago on the old forum). Anyway thanks for all the replies, really useful and lots to mull over. At this moment in time it seems as though the a/c has many maintenace advantages though I accept Steve's point that spares for the WBX'r will probably become available and some can be fabricated until they are. A Scuby transplant is going to cost around £2000 possibly more. A recon 1.9DG with a rebuilt cooling system (sensible IMO), clutch, exhaust, etc, probably even more. Which leaves me the options of buying an a/c with duff shell and transplanting everything over to mine or simply sell mine and get a reasonably good a/c. Never driven a T25 a/c so might go and view some and give them a try.
