Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
i have had all three, a pop top, a tin top and a high top..... the high top does everything the other two do, only better, there are pros and cons, the hi top cant get in silly little car parks, but then silly little cars can, so i dont get dinted side panels...... the tin top can have a goodly roof rack, but then i can get everything inside the hitop, and the pop top is noisy and draughty, the hi top is neither, and the fuel consuption is neither here nor there, negliable, and the pop top was definately no better than the hitop .

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
We have a Autohomes Hi-Top and think it's great due to the storage, warmth and me being able to stand up in it without stooping (I'm 6'4").
The sister in law and brother in law have a pop top bay and are seriously considering a hi top T25 as thiers is too cold for winter camping with the kids and too cramped in the summer with all the urchin related paraphanalia that they cart about with them.
Each to thier own but Hi-Top for us.

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
I have an Autohomes Kameo high top (two berth) and have it booked in to replace it with a....high top with sliding bed from Timber Tech's. Much more room for storage, standing etc.
Best move in my opinion.

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
Ive had a pop top before and I have to agree they look better , but are more fiddly and cost more in the long run. Ive just bought a twin slider tin top which I'm converting to a camper, and I managed to find a hightop with all the fittings on Ebay for £150 (bargain) .Ps I'm new here and this is my first post. Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
Hi Pocolow & welcome to the madhouse,
I've had a poptop, a moonraker which was a bugger to put up & down, & now have a hightop and the extra storage combined with the just stop and its ready to use swung me in its favour.
The down side of height barriers depends on where you live and whether you use it as your only vehicle. I do and here in Andover we have no barriers.

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
I'm a poptop wanna be! On the lookout for my first campervan of my very very very own!
It'll be a daily driver and I want to get into silly little car parks with it. Also my daughter is only 3yrs old so rugrat paraphanalia is reasonably under control and, try as I might, she won't go in the roof just yet (her dad putting her in his T2 Bay without the flap and her falling out at 5am may have some bearing on this!).

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
Pop-Top for us - our old "lid" required replacing - more of a sieve really
, so after a long list of pros and cons we went for a replacement pop-top - who wants to drive around with a hard hat on

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
I had a pop top for 5 years and now have a high top ...no difference in getting into car parks couldn't get in most with pop top , downside of pop top was having a place to move away from campsite to store stuff (all over floor in my case) Now no problems and a much tidier van . No noticable difference in fuel consumption or tippign over at roundabouts, didn't fidn either hi or pop top difficult to drive in winds either (bliddy old wives talking again)
Now ask me air or water cooled and I will say air

Re: POLL HIGH TOP OR POP TOP ROOF ?
poptop was a pain, so replaced with a hightop. Better storage and ability to just park & sleep over without drawing too much attention.

If I didn't have a hi top, I'd have to buy a trailer. Where else could you store 4 quilts and 8 pillows?
