Drip Drip drip in the night.
Just had a paint job on our Kamper. Spent the last four nights in the forests of South Wales. lots of rain and dripping noises throughout the night.
Are the back air vents supposed to slope downwards and in to the engine compartment as they make a hell of a noise with 2 inches of rain per hour dripping down them!!???

Dripping n loud
We always make sure the camper is parked slightly nose down - and I've extended the gutters so the water runs away quietly down the tailgate-shut area.

Drip Drip Drip in the night.
Well thanks everybody, some good solutions to what appears is a universal problem.
What concerns me now is what happens to the rain when it goes down the hole....We'll have to have a good look.

Don't do it
You don't want to go looking down that hole! - you'll get vertigo or feel the need to crawl down it - and you'd only come out at side of the engine bay anyway.

Dripping water down air intakes at rear
Not only is the dripping water down the intakes a nuisance but what about the damp and rust it creates when the van is parked!
Our old air colded bay have vanes angled the other way so the rain ran off. Presumable with a water cooled engine you don't need so much air when you are going along? So will one of you people who make goodies for our vans please make some replacement intakes with the vanes the other way.
Please keep me informed if you are making some

Drip Drip
Yes the air vents on the Bay are part of the rear metal panel so it needs some one to make some fibreglass/plastic ones.
