Try the alternative engines forum, you'll love that even better as it tells you what you need to know, over and over again, and again, and again, and again...

I would be interested in what difference you find between the two engines, I have the 1.6 TD and so far find it good and economical. I have also got my hands on the 1.9TD from a seat and will keep it as a spare just in case the worst happens. I would like to know if you find much difference in the power and speed of the 1.9 TD. cheers Carl 8)

Don't know about the technical stuff, but in answer to the question "what difference is there"
Lots! far more speed and acceleration (for a diesel) you can even go 60 up hills in a 1.9td wey hey, thats go to be a winner!

60 up hills isn't exactly getting you there before all the others, when white vans still pass you as if you're going the othere way - but at least the world shouldn't come to an end before arriving

Going up any hill at 60 would be a feat of engineering for my van. As far as I'm concerned it's not about how quick you get there it's if you get there that's my biggest worry.
