Electric Windows. How to change to winders.

Post by jimbobbig »

My electric windows on my caravelle have finally given up. Has anyone replaced electric windows with normal winders. If so is it an easy process and what needs changing etc.

I haven't - although maybe
i should because the electric windows scare me..........window winder mechanisms are realy easy, and the only real difference is that the threaded bar in hand wound rotates by hand rather than machine - I imagine it's a piece of pi$$ - although it's something I've not yet done. The whole assembly removes via a bolt through the bottom of the door - undo, wind up and remove - simple as...........a window winder mechanism should cost no more than a tenner second hand, a new electric motot mechanism more so.......
