Hi All,
I have a leak in the front windscreen, drivers side (LHD) that ends up in the footwell. I have gone round the outer screen with silicon sealer in an attempt to do a quick fix, this seemed to work for a while but not anymore. Has anyone got any ideas that will save me having to replace the whole seal/windscreen......credit crunch innit?
Thanks in advance.
Matt

To be honest you may have made your problem worse by using silicone based sealer. Proper windscreen sealer (such as 3M screen sealer) is a non hardening sealing compound which will flex with any movement of the body/glass and rubber seal.
My guess is the sealer you have used has either dried and then broken away from one of the surfaces thus allowing the water to pass by again, OR it hasn't stuck during application due to moisture which the silicone would not stick to anyway.
The proper fix is to remove the screen, get shot of all the silicone in there and start again.....
