Although it's getting on with winter out there, I do plan on topping up the cavity wax done by the previous owner a few years ago.
I just have one possibly really stupid question:
Does the wax affect the interior working in the body cavities? Things like locks, window winders, fridge exhausts etc?

on a more serious note , wont effect anything ,will obviously run when warm ,ie fridge vent , but you shouldnt need to wax this!
no reason to point it at anything other than metal panels anyway ,so a bit of splash is ok
