Latest Club News! Moderator changes...

Post by HarryMann »

Bob Green (HacksawBob) has given notice that he will not have as much time in the foreseeable future to give to club80-90 and therefore is stepping down as Moderator.

We thank him for stepping up at a critical time, getting stuck in to the job from day one and remind ourselves that's two years gone by!
Apart from moderating with flair, panache and distinction, Bob deserves great credit for promoting the idea of the Wikipedia strongly - when few of us knew what he was on about :)
Bob, together with Admin Long Lost Lone Gunman, chose and implemented the solution and it has proved to be a great success, with T25/Vanagon Googlers all over the world making use of it now. For those that haven't noticed - a French language shadow version has been started.

To replace Bob and because I'm doing less and less moderating these days and more admin work, we are bringing two new Mods into the team, T'Onion and Lloyd, who we feel will represent you all well, and be around at different times of the day (and night) to keep the ball rolling and a watchful eye on things. T'Onion (Mark) has been a club member for a long (long) time, and has seen it all, so you won't be pulling the wool over T'eyes easily, whilst Lloyd is a more recent yet very active member who hoves from the USA.

Please welcome them to their new roles as moderators.

Just to remind you then, the 4 Mods are:

Rob
Kathyshack
T'Onion
Lloyd

Admins:

Mocki (Membership/Website)
SyncroAnd101 (Tech/Treasurer)
HarryMann (Tech/Wiki)
LLL Gunman (Tech, very)

Any further news can be found here in the future, Announcements & Info

Thanks for reading,

Thanks Guys, Good luck T'onion and Lloyd I'm sure you'll get into the hang of things, new blood an all that. I am trying to spend a bit less time on the 'puter these days and more time with my kids plus I have started a Steiner teacher training course. The actual moderation doesn't take a lot of time TBH but keeping tabs on the undercurrents of who has irritated who etc (thankfully rare these days) I found required a lot of background browsing. I am not off anywhere I'll still be posting on here and adding stuff to the wiki if it needs it. Thanks for the support of the other mods and admins over the last couple of years.

Thanks Bob for all you've done with the forum and wiki. We must get together sometime and sample some more beer. I've been trying different ones for awhile now and would love to have your opinion.

In moderation I hope, Lloyd? Ew know how feisty you colonials can get after a few sherberts. Unlike us mild, meek & reserved English who hardly take any incohol. Hic. Cheerzzz! :trunk

Best wishes & many thanks to you, H/Bob.

Good luck to Lloyd & Mark in your new capacities.
