Mystery vents above fuel tank

Post by caveman »

On the 82 diesel in which i pulled the fuel tank out because too much biodiesel stripped out all the rust and gunk , i noticed 2 more things attached to the body which kinda look like vents but at the ends they have a rubber funnel. actually one side is connected to a tube which seems to go just behind the cross brace just behind the vent tubes for the tank. the left side had fallen ,and there isn't a corresponding tube for it to attach to. It's a Munz camper if that helps.

Okay never mind. I didn't see that in the bentley had a specific page for a diesel tank. They are the vents for the breather bottles.

No, apparently they just attach to the top hoses of the vent tanks, which then run through the frame, attatch to those funnel bits and habg down between the floor and tank. you would think that they would let dirt into the bottles, but they weren't bad inside.
