Getting to the point where I think an extra seat would be useful in our van, as increasingly could do to carry that extra person. Just trying to do some research at the moment. Currently have 2 seats up front and 3/4 rock n roll bed. Behind the passenger seat i have a buddy box which holds the loo.
What buddy sests are available out there, and are there any that still allow you to store you loo? I was wondering if I could perhaps build a new box seat with a back on (to house loo) and somehow attach a seatbelt. Have also seen some folding seats which might be cool, but not sure how they attach etc.
Any info (and pics) would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
kathy

Kathy,
speak to Hakuna matata..he made a backed buddy seat that holds the loo. It also has a side flap for that additional seat when parked.
I have a devon buddy fixed in that position....and it has a 3 point. I have ustilised the plug fitting on the passenger box (ie that has the passenger and buddy plugs).
The other part of the belt is fitted on the b frame, along with the passenger 3 point. Rather than describe, I will attempt a photo tonight. Steve&Bev have done a similar thing, but it is even betterer than mine....ask them for a picture....sure it will be fine.
Take care

You could install a single seat in the middle position. VW offered an optional steel box which slid onto the middle tracks normally used for vans. You can then install a front seat onto the built in tracks. Campers which did not come with the optional tracks can add them. Unfortunately you have to remove the wooden floors on Westfalias to access the bolt holes under the floor.
The second alternative is to install a 2-person bench in front next to the driver. These can on many pick-ups and 9-passenger vans. They do require a bulkhead or replacement support to hold the backrest.
The third alternative is a removable jumpseat. But then you would lose your ability to house the portapotti.
