1.9 w/c bleeding issue

Post by robs5230 »

and aint it just !

still got what appears to be a serious cooling issue.
dont seem to be able to bleed all the air from the rad. my lump is the one with the metal thermostat housing upside down at the rear of the vehicle.

when bleeding it hisses and bubles but cannot get bubble free coolant out.

the bleed screw in the engine bay will let neither air or coolant out.

is it possible i have a head gasket issue ?

is it possible to bleed the system with an auto bleed wotsit and who would have one .

i love to tinker but its driving me nuts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

read the bleeding instructions on the wiki

but try jacking the front end up 18 inches ish when bleeding making the rad higher than the rest of the system,
run the engine at approx 2000 rpm then undo the bleed nut on rad 1/2 a turn till you get water and not air.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience
