Oddly enough my mother in law was a serving wench at Hatfield house for 30 years, till 1997 when she retired. She was in the video for Prince Charming filmed there.

for the sake of £4.50 from GSF, try the Fuel Pump Push Rod.

I renewed this last week after experiencing the same symptoms. The old one was not as pointed as the one that came out. The Fuel Pump Push Rod can be found under the Fuel pump and is easy accessed by removing the fuel pump and swapping like for like. A 10 minute job of anyones day.. even a novice retard like me :-)

GSF had TWO sizes available - 100mm and 108mm both for the same money. Not knowing which to get i bought em both!! The comparison between old and new was 4mm so alternatively a blob of solder might do the trick too.

All well so far... 8) until the next problem of course...

Wow! She could have been responsible for the later half of the evening being a bit of a blur and my sore head the following morning. Cracking do though.
Cheers
