2L air cooled twin carb setting up

Post by kelco »

hi all ,could some one send me a step by step instruction on how to set up the twin carbs on my 1981 air cooled, when i got it all the linkages were not locked up , it runs ok but the engine has a fast tick over and any amount of screwing the tick over adjusting screw makes no differance, thanks kelco :)

I'm no expert - I haven't actually done this myself - but there is some adjustment advice in Haynes for these carbs. If you have no Haynes then there is some stuff about these carbs on earlier engines in bays here
Let us know how you get on - I need to do a bit of a tune-up too eg check that my carbs are balanced/get the idling right - it's too slow at the moment and that screw doesn't seem to make any difference.
