2.1 dj starter motor not good!

Post by willf »

It works sometimes but often doesn't. Turns over very slowly. Is it just a bush? Is it a new motor?
Where do i find what i need?

firstly make sure ALL you connections are clean and good, and that you have a good ground together with a healthy battery

then we can run through all the likely mechanical suspects

I got a brand new one from german e-bay for about 70 quid. If the battery and connections are good, it's the best way to go. It is a pig of a job on a syncro. Mine was getting tired, and would sometimes turn, sometimes not. The bush is just a quid from gsf i think, though not sure what the symptoms are if it is knackered, although there was no visible wear on my old one. Others will know.
