rust around westy camper window

Post by bobbabawbag »

I have a westy club joker high top and live in Glasgow. I seem to have sprung a leak around the right rear window or vent or roof.
I am assuming it is the window as there are a few rust bubbles and a bit of water sitting under outside window rubber. I first noticed leak as the rear cushion over engine compartment was dampon that side.
Is the window or roof or vent the most likely place?

It was resprayed before i got the van about a year and a half ago but not a fantastic job although not a many rust spots (front window fine).
Who should i take it to in Glasgow (South Scotland) to take out window and sort rust - does it need a "specialist" to do this as it is a double glazed westy window.
Any idea on cost?
Is it a problem with colour match just to do one panel?
Cheers Bob

Its easy to remove window--from inside start at corner & push rubber over the metal with wide blade screwdriver--then push rubber out with fingers until window is out--you can the clean prime & paint rusty bits under rubberif theres a hole patch with Isopon P40--to replace window--put strong cord around the window rubber offer window up & with assistant holding it in place use cord to pull rubber back round metal--
