Missing grill/trim ???

Post by CycloneMike »

Hello
Can anyone tell me if there should be a grill or trim in the oblong hole in the B pillar below the door latch?
I'm putting my van back together and can't find anything to fit or even remember if I took anything out?
Help please.
Misiing from bottom left corner of picture???

Your common or garden poverty model basic caravelle or panel van would have left the factory with this gaping hole in the 'B' post on both the O/S and N/S front doors as it is part of the rear roof ventilation (air outlets) which supply fresh air only to the central conpartment of the vehicle.

A 'B' post air duct gasket (a nice finished louvered vent ) was made available for the executive models ie top of the range Caravelles (the Carat) and the LLE's and also the Westy campers I think,,,,,,

Regards

Fritz,,,,,,

PS, their is also an edge trim available to cover the sharp edge of the 2 spot welded vertical seams shown in the picture....
One day you will find me,,

Thank you both.
So looks like I didn't loose them then, I just have a poverty spec van.
I do have the edge trim though. Just waiting till I trim the pillars before fitting.

Funny, I was looking at that hole on my Atlantic last night and wondering if a previous owner had forgotten to put the trim back on .....

Update .... Drivers side not there, but I do have the trim on the passenger side :?
