Sliding Door

Post by StewnJo »

I have a problem with the sliding door. It locks no problem with the key or from inside, but if I drive over bumps/pot holes the door becomes unsecure. It does't open but moves from the locked position. Anybody had this problem? Anybody know the solution. Thanks.

Think this may have been discussed before....have a look in the search facility. I had to put on a new lock - the one on the back edge of the door frame. Managed to get a good 2nd hand one. There are apparently different types, so take along your old one for comparrisons.
Good luck.......

2 stage lock, safety works, but closed position is worn. Unfortunately now obsolete from VW, only choice is the breakers and a good one is ahrd to find. I sold my last one to Fritz I'm afraid.

hi
i posted a similar topic a couple of weeks ago. had van booked in for service and asked them to look at it. they greased the catch i think, but since then have not had any problems. i take it that the door is shuting flush at the back.
