T25/Ford adapter plate question

Post by justbuggin »

Ok, I've got a T25 (was a 2.1 VW watercooled), but the previous owner put an adapter plate on & married up a 1.6 Ford diesel. Not sure what the box is, but it's a 4 speed.

Will that adapter plate fit on anything else, VW-wise? I've now got a fully rebuild 2.1 Pinto to go with it & I'm interested to see if I can dump it into anything a bit smaller than the van, for a bit of fun.

Cheers

with that adapter you can put almost any ford engine in ie 16valve zetec
which would be shorter sump wise than a pinto.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience

Sorry, I didn't explain it properly. With the Pinto & adapterplate fitted together, what VW will it fit in?

If its on the wbx bellhousing, then it could fit beetles too.. but a pinto hanging out the back isnt a good idea... heavy and tall...
