I think five were built, some are no more, some are in private hands.

Thats me under the van having a look
Behind it is the last T25 well the last LLE 2500 and behind that a tri-start
The 'Tri-Start' or Tristar is in fact a prototype 'Magma'. If only....

jep, it's the pre-series tristar, they built only one "Magma" doublecab. It's very hard to get some documents of the "Magma" project.

Hmm perhaps there are two as I have seen press photos of what seems to be the same vehcile badged 'Magma' on the front, where the Tristar logo usually is.
I reckon it was the design exercise/taster vehicle for the Tristar exercise.
I have VW's original drawings for it here (same colour but with more cool addons). I love the grille, nudgebar and winch setup.

Hi, Does anyone know what the alloy wheels fitted to the Tristar are???
They were fitted to my Syncro from new, but have been swapped for BBS type wheels and the originals sold on
I do have one left ( the spare wheel ) But it has no name, just a number which I have had no luck with.
I'm looking for 4 of these wheels if anyone can help. size is 7x16
Cheers Paul.

I think they were made by Rial as I have seen the same design countless times on German Ebay.
Rial were also chosen by VW/Porsche and Audi as a tier 1 supplier.
Have a look on the wheel. It may say Rial somewhere
