i bought one from ebay it came from germany and arrived in 3 days. its 100 mm round with a blue led back light and ive mounted it on the right side of my dash and the door just closes. i ran a cable from the dash under the van to the coil and then wired it up to the lights . theres also a adjuster to set the revs before the red light comes on fab .

ok, diesel rev counters take the signal from the "w" connection on the alternator to sense revs ( you must have correct alternator pulley sizes for it to be anywhere near accurate) and petrol take the signal from the neg on the coil, you need he correct rev counter for the engine you have, a petrol one wont work on a derv and vica whatsit.

if people make us guess what engine and van they are talking about how can we answer?

I have a rev counter sitting in my stores unused, seperate type, not t25 pod ine if anyone needs one, £25 plus postage.

Hi, thanks for your help
sorry for not saying that I have a petrol 1.9l engine. I didn't realise that it would make any difference.

i bought a brandnew tim one for my 1.9 panel van for £27 sheets delivered from somewhere in hull, peice of cake to wire in, fitted it to the left of the instrument pod (rhd), connected the light feed from the side lights, earthed under the dash and the feed from the coil to get it going, ran the wiring from the engine bay under the van and in rather than inside the van and all the way to the front...

Just fitted one to my 1.9 as well. Also used a TIM 52mm one. Got it off ebay and also bought a TIM pod for it to go in. Fitted it to the right hand side of the dash cowl in its pod and I think it looks very neat :D It was a doddle to fit, 2 wires to your coil, 1 to your side light switch and 2 to an earth. If you get a new one they come with full instructions. The only modifications I had to make were extending the wires that go to the coil and I had to cut a small piece out of the base of the TIM pod to allow it to angle back more so I could see the face of the rev counter fully.

Cheers mate, twas on the van when I bought it. Got a Caravelle wheel to put on but I can't bring myself to do it. The wood rim looks great but it's a pig in car parks etc and you can't see all the dash properly
