French lpg (or wotever its called)

ok we are heading to france in the summer , so wot adaptor do i need ? also has any one got the poi of lpg stations in france for tomtom ? or the like ?

Sorry dont have a POI for TOm Tom but we toured France for 3 weeks last Summer and had no trouble at all finding GPL seems like more garages and lots of Supermarket garages stock it than over here

Mark, you'll need the large round dished one for France. As has been said GPL is easily available,every other motorway services had it (it's advertised in the corner of the roadsign.) Off the Autoroute the larger petrol stations in and around towns had it. Price was ~75 cents/litre aka ten bob to me and thee.

Watch out for the large red knob next to the pump .... some idiot

.... might mistake this for the 'fill' button. I know I did :run

You need the same adapter throughout France (the 'dish' one) but there are two different types of pump. One has a big handle you pull back to lock it in place but the other is by far the best and simplest one I've ever used - far better than the two UK types, the Irish, Belgian, Italian, Dutch, German or Austrian. It has a black collar that slides forward to lock it in place and the action is simple; grip the black collar and push to connect, grip the black collar and pull to disconnect. This should be the universal standard throughout Europe I reckon.

Mark...thats the site i used when we went to France last year...very thorough and up to date. Printed a few maps off before we went....just in case the GPS played up......dont want to be running on the dear stuff now do we!!!!

Mark, i didnt download the POI's......just printed the maps off for the areas we were going to. Tha GPS i've got is a Medion one and you have to but additional software for 30 Euro's to be able to download POI's (sod that) so i only used it cause it has the major roads of europe on!!! Didnt realise how useless that was.....but the info on the site was up to date
