Specific locking tool for cam gear.Is there ?

Post by camper »

I did some work on the van this week end.I replaced the head which had been skimmed a 1.6td.To change a cam belt or other it requires the cam gear bolt to be undone.Apart from the locking pin and a plate that slides into the cam shaft for timing position. Is there a specific tool that will lock the cam gear to undo and tighten the bolt.I used a socket that fitted through the holes and clamped it to lock it.Not a very good arrangement i no but it worked.

Thanks look at it.But it only warns you not to use the camshaft locking when you use a 19mm socket to undo the cam gear bolt.
