yo dudes,i need to change the fuel sender on marladys diesel 1983 holdsworth,theres a big alley jobby between the two front seats cut into the floor to take a small table.my question is......can i get at the sender through the hole in the floor as i dont have time to drop the tank and change crap loads of other bits at the same time,i just need to get the soddin thing done to stop her constant verbal ear bashin!!!!!!

it might just be possible to get your arm in through the front wheel arch but you will have to do it all blind and it has the power to pi$$ you off very quickly! ids say your best option is to drop the tank, get new filler neck and back fuel cap bracket and be careful of the breather pipe fittings, disconnect them before droping it by carefully prising them out of there rubber bungs on the top of the tank located through the front arches, again blind

I agree with russell. I've just taken out my tank to repair the sender, the possbilitiy of turning the fitting and extracting it in the limited space above the tank in-situ seems limited, to say the least. I'm not sure if they're all the same but mine has a six inch long float arm on it. I cant' see how you could extract, let alone refit it, in situ.

Besides which, the tank removal and refitting is an activity to revive the soul and gladden the heart.

ah was over your way yesterday vanjam,i got me mother a microwave off free-cycle,it says it was just outside shrewsbury,ah pant,welshpool...it took me soddin hours,n as for me heart n soul....i sold me soul to buy her the bloody thing,and me hearts give up the ghost......lol!
