First Camp? Pre camp question?
Hi again, this question is to the experts of the trips away (with kids). I'm heading off tommorow to Argarten for 2 nights, our first camp away. Just me and Olly (5). I've been through the forum and checked the lists of things to take away,
RAC, baby wipes, oil, bottle opener, DS, Ipod, tool kit etc etc. We've got a duvet and sleeping bags and food (beers for me) wellies etc etc.
Am i missing anything.
Don't want to mess the first trip away with Olly so any secret tips from parents would be mucho appreciated.
Oh and Olly also has the head lamp so we've got that boxed off.
Cheers

Got that one covered! It was easier 10 years ago, a trip away involved a quick pack and some cash!!! I need to put a little more thought in to it now.???

I guarentee you will over pack the first time you go camping, and the second, and the third................
You will soon work out what you need, and the stuff you don't need you'll probably take anyway just in case you need it.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

A wee fan heater if your getting elecy hookup Emma, i was at argarten last April for a few nights with my little fella and it got quite nippy at night. In fact the picture on my signature was taken there on one of the pitches looking towards Arrocher. Enjoy your first trip away

Waterproof trousers are an absolute godsend when camping with kids. Even in summer the grass is really wet first thing. Keeps them warmer too, nothing worse than a soggy cold kid to set the dreaded whinge off.
Have a fantastic time, I bet you are both well excited
