Yeh the newcastle ferry doesn't run anymore.
So far, in my research, it's DFDS to Esjberg then a drive up to one of the more nothern ports and on to Oslo or Bergen

It's about 20 hours to Denmark then about 130 mile drive I think.
Not all the ferry schedules are up for 2010 yet tho.

We drove up there this year. The story is a mate of a mate wanted a couple of volvos bringing to Norway from the UK so I took them over with a few mate and we had a right laugh. To get to Oslo took about two full days driving

While we are on the subject of Norway, could any of you who live there tell me how practical it is to drive around your fine country this Christmas in a Westfalia Syncro 1.9d and how far do you think i could drive up safely with my three year old son and my wife? How cold does it get up north and how deep does the snow get? Will i need those tyres with the metal studs in? or will i be fine on AT tyres?
