A few rainy days in the Peak District

Post by CliffDutfield »

We have just had a few nights away in the van in the Peak District.
We stayed at the Ilam Hall Caravan Park near Ashbourne.

It is a National Trust Run site just behind Ilam Hall, an old Gothic Manor now used as a Youth Hostel. They only have about twenty pitches, and are very well priced at £12 a night in the week with electric hook up and £15 at the weekend.

The showers a little walk from the site as they are in the stable block of the hall. You can also eat in the hall if you let them know in advance and every paying adult meal gets a free kids meal too :D

There are loads of places to visit around the area and lots of good walks/cycle routes and the scenery is amazing.
