Had a very nice couple of nights at Stonehenge Campsite. It's much smaller than I expected, but probably felt like that because there weren't any campers in the large campfire-friendly field - it's tents only in there and I guess the frequent downpours this weekend put any tent dwellers off...

The site is really well landscaped, relaxed and has decent amenities. If you forget to bring eggs for your morning omelette fear not, you can buy eggs for 20p each 24 hours a day (got to love an honesty box).

Lovely 15 minute walk to the nearest village which is home of a beautiful old pub, The Boot Inn. It has some interesting opening hours though, so worth giving them a call before you set off (our first walk to the pub did not end in the desired pint!).

The site is really quite close to the A303 and you can hear traffic noise, which is the only real drawback.

Ah, you're in Whiteparish!

We were going to spend one night camping in the Parish Lantern, but decided against it in the end as it was an easier journey back to Devon from Stonehenge Campsite.

You missed a trick - only £5 and decent enough pup grub!!! Saying that, it's a bit of a detour off the a303 for yr return journey - believe it or not I've camped there (a practice run) and its about 500 yards from my front door!!!
