HOW MUCH TO DRIVE THROUGH SWITZERLAND?

Post by SurreyT25 »

My T25 Caravelle CL is taking us to Italy via Switzerland at the end of May. What is the Road Tax charge and how can you pay?

Here's where to get them online ... http://www.swisstravelsystem.co.uk/prod ... p?passid=5 Depending on the size of the border crossing there can be queues, personally we bought our's before going just to be doubly sure. You only need them for the lovely, smooth and sparkly Swiss motorways.

We have always been flagged down by the border crossing officials when coming in from france via the E25; they take your Euros and give you the vignette on the spot. If you dont have cash they send you into the office to pay on card. I would imagine that in the holiday season (July/August) thousands would simply drive through the country in complete ignorance every day otherwise !

it's only a £70 spot fine if they catch ye without the sticker.

plus ye have to buy the sticker as well. :rofl

if my tea's supposed to be weak let me invite ye for coffee. :run

ye see the thing on sticks coming out of the right of that roof? that's a swiss motorway. :rollin

( click on image for big picture)

the sticker in't dear if ye consider what these roads cost to build. a few miles from me there's a new exit just been approved. it's almost 1 mile of new road to be built and it'll almost definately go over the budgeted £27 million..........
