anglesey winter camping

Post by mattrsa »

Hi Guys

I looking for a recommendation for a camp site on anglesey that is going to open now. Ideally it will have hook up so we can run a little heater as we dont have any other heating in the van. Seen a few places but all of them seem to be closed for the winter.

Thanks in advance
Matt

Hi Matt

Ty Newydd at Church Bay is open all year, owner is a top chap, you need to call him before hand just in case he is away for a day or two, look it up on the web.

Yes that's the one, the camp site is on the front side of the car park for the bay and it has one of the best seafood restuarants in wales, The Lobster Pot

theres a great campsite at the top of ravens point road, treaddur bay. cant remember the name, its at the back of the first site and on the right hand side. A good sized site with showers, shop and electric hook up but also has a couple of large fields well away from the main site which gives it a bit of wild camping feel. Plenty of wildlife etc in the reed beds along the fields. Steve might be able to tell you the name of it.

i think it might be gwynfair caravan park

We went there at Easter last year....the whole island was cold and damp....but church bay was an absolute sun trap.....it was a really memorable day. I remember the campsite now....right opposite the lobster pot.

The restaurant looks good too.
