Decided to put this (my concerns) in a new thread =
OK, so we intended to set off around this coming weekend (22nd / 23rd Sept). We had to wait until now for reasons I won't bore you with.
But, has Murphy's law kicked in
The weather forecast for around Limoges =
This is similar to other forecasts on the net.
I really don't want to go all that way / spend all that money to be darn near as cold and wet as it is here in the UK

Re: France, weather not too good now :(
Got back yesterday from 10 days in Cornwall. If I believed the forecasts on the net I would have stayed in the van all week. They invariably said 16 degrees feels like 13 with medium level cloud.
I returned from Cornwall with a bright read head having never seen a jumper or a raindrop for 10 days*
Last wednesday
Last saturday
Basically weather forecasts are good for about 12-24 hours beyond that it's anyones guess
*Peed it down when I got home and has barely made it into double figures since I returned to the Northwest

Then avoid Limoges (I always avoid Limoges). France is a huge country with loads of micro-climates. Check the weather forecast the day before you leave and follow the sun. If it rains in one place check the weather and go somewhere where it's sunny. Relax and explore. You will enjoy it wherever you go.

First stop on our france trip in 2010 it was hammering down with rain all night - packed up the next morning and just kept driving south. I swear most of the second day travelling I could see grey cloud in the rear view mirror and blue skies ahead, but we outran it eventually

I should point out that we are not actually going to Limoges, it's just that it is roughly in the centre of the area we had decided to visit (Including our 80-90 friends John and Steve in Sarran) In fact we have no firm plans as to whereabouts to go !
Even looked at ferries to Bilboa in N. Spain, a short(ish) drive to the south of France, but that costs ~£500 one way

Ummm, I wonder if I can find a decent one. As I said above, we will be gutted if the weather is no better than here as that was 75% of the reason for the trip in the first place = to find some sunshine

Re: France, weather not too good now :(
Hello,
We have had our first few drops of rain since the 5th of August,
Should be sunny all week,...
Should still be good right down South.. Perpignan and around...
I reckon we will have good (ish) weather till november..
Lokk forward to seeing you...
Cordialement
