Yes, I know what you mean. We turn the B&Q heater thermostat down to a very low setting at night, even then, it's often too warm.

Being nicely cool is much more pleasant than being too hot.

The average 'blow air' heater system rating for our vans is between 1500 and 2000 watts. I think the original Eberspachers in the Westy's were 1600 watts. So it follows that if you want an oil filled radiator to be sufficiently powerful for the space, you should be looking at similarly powered units.
Our oil filled rad is rated at 1500watts.....just enough on max when it hits the minus 5 - 8's.
We had a smaller 1200watt unit that just wasn't powerful enough.

We turn it down onto it's first setting (one of three) so at night I guess it's half power which is just right for keeping the chill off.
